Disease Related to Computer Usage

All computer users, notebook, or even netbook, need to know that if they use those gadgets for a long time, some diseases might occur. Those diseases might appear because of incorrect usage, such as screen is too high, the distance between your eyes and the computer is too close, the lighting is too dim, and so on. The diseases are quite dangerous but still can be overcome by correcting the usage of the computer. Here are some of the health risks that might occur if we use computer for a long time.

1.       Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS)
This disease experienced by people that when their vision become blurred, they move their position forward to have a better vision. The symptoms are eye irritation, sensitivity to light, pain in the neck and back.

2.       Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
Caused by doing repetitive physical movements that will lead to damage to tendons, nerves, muscles, and other tissues. Which included in the RSI are neck pain, back pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tenosynovitis DeQuervains, Thorscic Outlet Syndrome, Shoulder Impingement Syndrome, and Tennis Elbow.

3.       Stress
The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) found that computer operator has stress level that higher than other occupation.

4.       Nephrolithiasis
Urinary tract infection and blockage that happen because consuming high calcium food with high oxalate that difficult to dissolve into organs. Attack if we sit for a long time, frequent urinary incontinence, and consume less water.

5.       Liver
Computer users that rarely sleep and frequent online until late night will be susceptible to liver disease. Characteristics of people with liver disease are urine that colored very brown, fatigue, and loss of appetite.
